Open Hardware for Energy Transition

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Climate change and natural resources scarcity are very powerful drivers for the transition of our energy systems. We need to go towards more efficient, low carbon solutions for our buldings, our transports and our energy production. How can open hardware be part of this transition ? What's beyond technology ?

- Open Energy Monitor (Open hardware energy monitoring)
- Tripalium (Open source design and open knowledge for wind power)
- Velocar.cc (low carbon mobility with open source human/electric hybrid vehicle)

I am passionate about wind. I work to develop small wind in France and around the globe through teach people how to build and install small wind turbines. With the association Tripalium we have built and installed over 120 small wind turbines providing electricity to sites though out France. We have also taught over a thousand people not only how to build a small wind turbine, but also how to weld, work with resin, electrical theory, and carve... Read More →

Im interested in how taking an open source approach to technology development can help us accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future. Specifically I work on the OpenEnergyMonitor project which is a project to develop open source energy monitoring tools, everything is open source, hardware design, schematics, board files and the cloud software source code.
