How To Organize an Open Source Festival
Conferences are over, long live Festivals!

After a long reign of top-down and non collaborative conferences exclusively designed to gather experts to teach something they might not know, the new conference is built by people in a bottom-up, grassroots environment. This session is designed to tell the story and share the source code of three open source festivals : the Open It festival, the Social Harvest and the OuiShare Fest.

John Thackara says it all : "It's not about content. It's about time, place, tempo - and respect"

  • Francesca Pick (OuiShare): How we built the OuiShare Fest

  • John Thackara: How To Organise A Social Harvest Festival: A Seven Minute Lesson

  • Lars Zimmermann: How to transform the city into an open learning space using a collaborative guerilla conferencing and city hacking process?
